Giving Antler’s little sister her own identity

Revelation Luggage is the sister brand to Antler Luggage (and almost as old at 94 years) and in the process of the company’s overall decline Revelation had become an almost faceless, generic brand in the lower end of the category. And one that received very little of the available marketing pot.

We settled on an imagery style reminiscent of David Baileys work of the swinging 60’s, using it in mono where we felt it made the product standout. 

Simple and expressive shots of people – of all ages – with real character – demonstrating a sense of fun, surprise, wit and charm.

 

A visual shorthand for the brand, was needed primarily for product branding – where space was limited. It was important that the logo had stand out on product with vibrant and striking patterns – a key part of the new product design strategy.

One key piece of collateral was the brand manifesto. Produced in newspaper style it presented new product ranges but also the new brand philosophy and attitude towards developing new product / meeting customer needs, and the journey the brand itself had been on in TEN REVELATIONS. It was delivered attached to a helium balloon to add extra surprise. 

We developed a series of statements for use across collateral that exemplified the attitude of the new brand. Ones that inspired revelations – brainwaves, epiphanies, discoveries and flashes of inspiration and surprise.

As part of the process we collaborated with DJ wheelie bag on the ‘Rev! Wheelie Bag Soundsystem’. A portable DJ booth in a Revelation! suitcase, to be taken to trade events and create a bit of buzz around the brand.
